SEO With Content Marketing

By Arron Vepel

Content marketing is a very popular term, which is being discussed a lot amongst the marketing and business development circles. However many people ask what it has to do with SEO, and what does the term allude to?

In Actuality, what is Involved in Content Marketing?

When you break it down, it simply means opening a line of dialogue between you and your potential customers and clients, it is not about immediate sales. It is non-interruption marketing. When you give your clients valuable information rather than just trying to sell, they have a better knowledge and appreciation for your product. The theory behind this idea is that customers will come back time and again and remain loyal, when business like yours provide useful information to them, reliably.

The content attracts, informs, persuades, serves and engages buyer personas, prospects, customers and other target audiences across the entire lifecycle and relationship with our organization.

What Does it Do?

A business will find that it's place in the market will be more solidified, as the consumers will feel a stronger connection with the company that is forward thinking, it won't bring massive sales on it's own, but traffic to the website will be increased and search engine traffic will also be greatly improved.

There are a lot of ways to accomplish this, including videos, podcasts, and webinars, and other tools like blogs and microblogs and articles that create excitement and a connection with yourself and your current customers, and future potential buyers. When a customer needs help with their product or service and looks for information, your company provides the knowledge they need to educate, entertain, and engage them.

How Does SEO Relate To This?

With the advent of Google Panda and Penguin updates, unique content building has become one of the rules of pretty much every online marketing campaign. Search engines respond well to this content, and the SERPS will reflect this accordingly.

When a customer is highly entertained or engaged by this content, they are more likely to share on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Pinterest, for examples. This has become a substantial part of search engine rankings, when social networking sites have shared your content.

Each company must look at their audience, and then tailor the content toward what they are expecting and what means the most to them.

A good place for you to show the innovations that your company is making is a business blog, and you can show your services and products off in the way you would like to promote your section of the overall industry. Everything can be shared from the same place on a newer business blog platforms, and all content can be sent out from this initial source about your brand, all over the internet.

Content that is more compelling to some consumers comes in the form of videos. Customers are likelier to actually pay for a product or service when they have watched a video on the subject, studies have shown.

Many marketing campaigns now include the use of ebooks, as they are an effective tool. Ebooks can be an effective way of relating a lot of data or content to your customers. Because ebooks generally require a download, you can use them as a way to generate new leads and collect important information from your interested prospects.

Content must be tailored for the consumer to keep brand loyalty high, and to make sure the right content is aimed at the right kind of consumer.
