When Home Feels Better With Window Cleaning

By Ryan Wagner

One morning you are doing some stretching, having breakfast, preparing for the day, the usual. Until you see what your windows look like. That it can actually use some dusting, and that you will feel horrified for anyone you will invite, when they see it.

The kids love to play by them and literally stick their noses to the window panes when they are damp on snowy weather. All the more that you have to make sure it is safe for their little faces and yours too. Some just put off window cleaning, thinking it is so much struggle when all you want to do is while away the time on the sofa.

Do not clean them when the sun is hitting it directly. This will make the windows dry quickly and then you will have unwanted streaks that are even harder to take off. It would prove to be too much trouble for an otherwise easy task. It would be better when you do your cleaning on a cloudy day.

Start by washing them with a sponge. The fewer the suds, the better it will be. Water always does the trick. It is a basic necessity for cleaning, and with soap, the stains on your window will be easier to deal with. Just fill a bucket or a large pot and add enough dish washing liquid drops.

Remember to wash the exterior first and with clean water so that you are able to remove grime and grease that has always been there. Wash it going from side to side and up, working your way down, on the outside. This way, it may be easier for you to see which side the streak will be on, if there is any.

To catch spills and dripping, prevent the mess by placing an absorbent cloth beneath, along each sill, before you go cleaning. Wet the pane with vinegar and water solution using a sponge, but be careful not to drench it too much. After this, you can gently rub away the dirt.

Sometimes it is better to use a squeegee made for window washing. This will help you take off he streaks better. Do not ignore the screens and wash them too. For those that are really dirty and hard for you to clean, household ammonia is better, especially if you use vinegar solution with it.

There are times you may want your own cleaning solution. You can do this by getting vinegar. Two tablespoons will do, added with warm water. You may want to also try household ammonia, and make it two tablespoons as well. After this, you can finish off the work with a dry cloth and assess how you did.

It would be safe to say that this task is generally something that most people hate because of all the dirt involved. Plus the dripping water and streaks that can prove to be so annoying. T You can just go for the steps that you find easier to work with. After all, those are your windows. You would know how best to maintain it, and let the sunshine in.
