Different Types Of Visas Provided By China

Visas are an important document for any person looking to enjoy the Chinese culture by visiting the country. Visitors to China can apply for a visa at the Chinese consulates or embassies in their respective countries. Before visiting the consulates, it is important to determine the type of visa that one requires in order to get in to the country.

A person will need to apply for a tourism gateway if his intentions are to visit this country for tourism purposes. This particular gateway comes in two main forms. There is the single entry and the double entry visa. When submitting your application, a copy of your travel itinerary must be submitted to the relevant officials.

Business and official purpose visas are also available. An individual looking to make more than one business trip should submit an application for the multiple entry visa. This particular visa requires that one has with him an official letter of invitation from any authorized department in the Chinese government.

Individuals looking to relocate for work will need an employment visa. Employment visas are important for professionals such as teachers, scholars, managers and the different foreign experts. The original letter of employment must be submitted if one is to get his visa approved.

Students have their own type of visa which they need to apply for. The Chinese student visa is available for individuals looking to join the local universities and colleges. During application, documents such as the letter of acceptance from the local universities as well as a certified letter from the education ministry must be provided.

In some cases, an individual may be on transit from one country to another. Residents from certain countries may not necessarily require the transit visa. For those applying for this visa, the officer in charge may require that an individual provide further documentation or to attend an interview in person.

Professionals in the journalism field can either apply for the J1 or J2 visa. This are specifically for individuals looking to cover news or make documentaries within this country. An official invitation letter is required from the interviewee as well as a letter of application from the news agency that he is working for.

Crew members working on ships and trains need to submit applications for crew members visa. Unlike the other visas, this is a document that will be heavily influenced by the type of bilateral agreements that have already been signed. Letters may also be required from the companies that the crew members are working for.
