What To Know About A UFC Blog

By Catalina Nielsen

UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship, the largest promo company operating around the world that is known for promoting mixed martial arts. It showcases the best ranked fighters in the industry and often hosts events around the globe. Currently it is based out of America and there are eight weight divisions. UFC blog may refer to an online site that fans access for organization news and updates.

The organization was created in 1993. Las Vegas is currently the state in which it is headquartered. The debut event for this organization was meant to help identify the best style of martial art fights between competitors involved in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, wrestling, boxing and karate. Over time, the fighters got better and studied various disciplines, which ultimately led to the creation of mixed martial arts.

During a match, every round should not last more than five minutes. The championship fights can go on for five rounds, at most. The New Jersey Athletic Control Board created the rules and regulations that are currently being used. In fact, many states have also accepted these rules. The weight classes of the sport are as follows: light heavyweight, lightweight, flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, middleweight, welterweight and heavyweight. The Octagon is the official name of the cage that matches are held in.

Fighters must dress in a certain way during matches. They must wear no shoes and only shorts that have been approved. Under no circumstances are shirts or long pants allowed. Open-finger gloves may be OK, so long as they have been approved beforehand. Fighters who wear gloves are usually doing it to protect their hands from injury while making punches. Mouth guards and jockstraps are mandatory and also subject to approval.

There are numerous ways that these fights may end, for example: technical knockout, judges decision, submission, forfeit, no contest and disqualification. A ten-point system is used in judging. There are three judges that are present and score players every round. The winner of a round will receive ten points and a loser will get nine or less. There are over 30 fouls that can be committed during such fights and in some cases result in point deductions.

The fighting championship has become extremely popular in recent times, particularly following the expansion in television coverage of fights. Fans usually follow UFC blogs and mainstream coverage as a way to stay up on everything that is going on in the industry. Blogs may include rumors, interviews, event information, news, forums for discussion, rankings and more.

Followers of this organization are known to participate in these blogs. They use the spaces to learn more about fighters and the sport, share predictions, get news updates and interact with other fans. Most sites permit followers to make profiles and be users.

UFC and MMA fans are known to frequent the UFC blog or any other online space where they can get updates on what is going on in this industry. Many sites of this type include rumors, interviews, event information and other relative details. Some feature discussion boards and forums where fans are able to communicate with each other.
