As unconscious biases effect every individual, this class helps individuals learn how such biases effect decision-making and how to eliminate the biases in the future.
The CLIA Mentoring Program in conjunction with the CLIA's Law and Leadership Academy is now being hosted at several high schools in the Baltimore vicinity. The academy assist students in finding internships in the legal field in order to reinforce existing skills. Most often, these internships are the first chance students have to use the skills learned through these various programs in a professional environment.
Several area law firms are also working to attract diverse students who have shown exceptional leadership qualities. In most cases, those doing so have been active in a number of community and public service programs while still in high school. As a result, the program has resulted in creating a pipeline of qualified and diverse individuals whom are now interested in working in the legal field.
