One is whether they will use the voice over internet protocol or VoIP system. This is a system, which is run over the internet, and it can provide cheap solutions compared to others. There is also the analogy system, which delivers the calls over what is known as public switched telephone network.

Presently, more and more companies are opting for the VoIP since it offers scalability in cost especially for the small businesses. Whether a business decides to go for hosted or on-premise system, it should ensure that the telephony has all the required features for a reliable, effective, cost efficient telephony. Businesses are created different and each may require a different kind of system depending on its size, the number of people, the location of installation, and the financial ability.
