By Linda Ruiz

A lubricant is used for the reduction of friction between engines. This is typically used in automobiles and are manufactured by certain known producers. There are different types of lubricants that are available for use for vehicle owners. A car owner will be asked if he wants to use regular oil for his car or the synthesized one when he goes to a repair shop to get his oil changed. Owners would typically have the regular one injected because it costs lesser than the synthetic oil wholesale. Certainly, this is one disadvantage that is attributed to man made lubricant. However, there are certainly a number of identifiable advantages, as well.

This oil is resistant to rust or oxidation than the conventional type. Older cars aiming not to have their engines rusty will certainly take advantage of this benefit. Oil change is also necessary if a certain vehicle has already traveled a specified distance. Longer intervals between oil change are expected if synthetics are used.

An additional boost in horsepower is also an advantage. The automobile will become more efficient due to this. As an example, race car drivers use this commodity. It will enable their cars to cover the same distance with the same speed with lesser gas consumption.

There are persons who buy cars so that it will be more convenient for them to travel to different places, whether for work or for vacation. They would want that the automobiles they purchased can be used for longer durations. If synthetic lubricant is used in lieu of the standard one, engine life will be longer. Car owners will be ecstatic to get this benefit.

Synthetic oil is friendly to the environment because the exhaust is cleaner. Regular oils are extracted from nature and are sold as is. They usually emit dark smoke which is considered to be very hazardous. Man made lubricants, on the other hand, are developed inside laboratories and have been examined carefully by scientists. These scientists usually are inclined in making sure that the products they are manufacturing are friendly to the environment.

The advantages stated are certainly numerous. However, using these lubricants also have its disadvantages. For one, they are very costly. Since they are manufactured through the use of a number of chemicals and machines inside laboratories, the cost in procuring the chemicals and overall use of the machines are also incorporated in their selling price.

Although using the lubricant is friendly to the planet, disposing it incorrectly is hazardous. This lubricant has problems decomposing itself. Since this is the case, certain manufacturers are taking the initiative of disposing these oils. They usually recycle them and sell them for industrial purposes.

A person can certainly choose whether he wants the regular product or the synthesized one for his car. They both have their positive and negative sides. It would be best if the owner consults the automobile manufacturer with regards lubricant recommendations. If he follows what they recommend, he will be able to get the performance that he wants for his car.
