Tips To Buy Email Lists

By Betty Stewart

There are many different ways to reach potential buyers. They include traditional marketing through television, newspaper, and magazine. In the last decade, reaching consumers through social media, search engine marketing, and other means since many consumers use their mobile devices to stay connected now more than ever. These digital marketing means are ever increasing in importance and email is still considered one of the most effective methods. To buy email lists has both risk and reward.

Most companies that sell the lists are able to target them to specific interests. These interests and demographics help narrow your spending to just the consumers that have shown interest in your specific type of product or service. Wasting the time to send blanket mass emails without knowing the audience will be interested will also waste your money. It can also risk getting your domain banned as a spamming domain. Higher response rates come with good emails and high-quality content to a targeted audience.

Top quality emails cost money. There's no super cheap way to make money. Sure, you can skimp and get a list that is super cheap. However, if the majority of the emails are bad, you're not going to have any return on investment. Not to mention the time it will take to filter out those that bounce back or never respond.

You should get a promise of good addresses. Many of the companies may offer some type of promise, but you need to be sure you get one before spending the money. If the emails are invalid, you would suffer the consequences of being banned or having your account locked by your own provider.

Most do not offer a money back refund. This is something that is a bit controversial. If you get a bad list, you may want to get your money back rather than receiving more bad emails. If the company is unwilling to offer a money guarantee, there may be a reason. Ask for one at the beginning.

Get as much information as you are able. Some will only offer the addresses. Those that offer the names and phone numbers associated with them may charge more but are offering a much better product. You will be able to call and verify a few of them. You can also use the names to personalize the campaigns in order to expect a better response rate. People like their names and when you can address them as such, your prospects are greatly improved.

Test a sample to be sure it is good. Negotiate a small sample and call them to verify their addresses. You can also send a test marketing campaign to just a few to see how they respond and if any bounce back. This type of test is best done on an address that is not associated with your main domain to avoid getting banned if there are bogus emails involved.

The content should be of high quality. Though you may think the addresses are the most important part of the formula, they are useless without high-quality content. Sending good information along with compelling messages will get a better response than a low-quality campaign with the best addresses.
