For instance, I view Tumblr as a popular entity and one of the reasons for this is because of how it's easy to reach the microblogging site's overall audience. This can be done through the incorporation of hashtags - this actually isn't much different than Twitter - as long as they are relevant to the content you are posting. Without these, your posts may not be read nearly as much, regardless of how engaging your content might be.
Blogging, if nothing else, can serve as one of the best journals for personal thoughts to be put down into words. It could be something as simple as recounting a key event from that day, utilizing one's ability to write about it and use descriptions which can have readers sink their teeth into them. Just because blogging can reach many people doesn't necessarily mean that it has to do. It could be meant more so for personal reasons, which is just fine.
One of the best things about blog writing, in my view, is that you do not necessarily have to specialize in writing to become proficient at it. Even if you do not have the best punctuation or grammatical skills, you can still thrive in this particular endeavor. It's just a matter of being able to tell the best stories in addition to well-researched information. If these are aspects you can cover, then there might be value in blog writing for you yet.
